The
Vizsla is
also called the Hungarian Pointer. At the end of World War I, the
Vizsla
was all but extinct. The importation of the breed into the United
States began in the 1950s. The breed was admitted into the American
Kennel Club in 1960.
The 2011 Conestoga Vizsla Club Annual Specialty Show and Supported
Entry was held July 2 and 3 at the Charles County Fairgrounds, Bel
Alton, MD, as part of the "Blue Crab Cluster." This year's Specialty
Chairperson was Ms. Stephanie Estes. The Trophies Chairperson was
Ms. Britt Jung. Congratulations and a warm "Thank You" to the
winners and all who participated, including especially the hard-working
2010 Specialty Committee!
Our Sweepstakes judge for the 2011 Specialty Show was Mr. Frank DePaulo,
and our regular class judge was Mr. Sam Houston MacDonald. At the
Supported Entry show on Sunday, July 3, Ms. Linda Pruitt was our
Sweepstakes judge.
