The Vizsla is
also called the Hungarian Pointer. At the end of World War I, the
Vizsla was all but extinct. The importation of the breed into the
United States began in the 1950s. The breed was admitted into the
American Kennel Club in 1960.
The CVC maintains a rescue network for Vizslas lost, abandoned, found,
or given up. We pick up the dogs and provide foster homes until a new
home is located.
People wanting to adopt a rescue should contact the rescue coordinator
to be placed on the waiting list.
People who can no longer care for their Vizsla and must give them up
should contact the rescue coordinator to arrange a transfer.
